Call for Proposals

2026 AASCB Annual Conference


Submit your proposal by end of day, August 30, 2025.

The American Association of State Counseling Boards (AASCB) is seeking regulatory-oriented session proposals for the 2026 AASCB Annual Conference to be held February 22-24, 2026 in Orlando, Florida. AASCB expects 80+ counseling licensing professionals, regulators, and other stakeholders to attend. Presentations that incorporate and promote interaction in the form of discussion questions, live surveys, polling questions, etc., are preferred. Proposals will be accepted through September 30th, 2025, and submitters will be notified of their session’s status by October 31st, 2025.

AASCB welcomes session proposals on all topics relevant to state counseling boards and their members but will give special consideration to proposals that speak to the following topics:

  • Counseling Education & Curriculum Development
    Best practices in counseling curriculum design
    Aligning curriculum with licensure requirements
    Innovations in counseling education methods
  • Licensure & Regulatory Updates
    State-by-state licensure changes
    Compliance challenges for counseling programs
    Counseling Compact implementation updates
  • Professional Development & Training
    Workshops for board members and educators
    Ethics and legal considerations in counseling
    Leadership skills for counseling administrators
  • Research & Data in Counseling
    Recent studies on counseling outcomes
    Data-driven approaches to licensure standards
    Impact of mental health policies on counselor practices
  • Association Governance & Policy
    Board governance best practices
    Strategic planning for counseling associations
    Advocacy efforts and policy influence

AASCB welcomes single or multiple presenters, panel discussions, and roundtable/workshop-style sessions. While stakeholders throughout the counseling community are encouraged to submit a proposal, please keep in mind that conference content should be relevant to those involved in the regulation of the counseling profession. Sessions that include a presenter with a master’s degree or higher in a mental health field will be eligible to have NBCC-approved continuing education credits offered for attendees of that session.
